Nigerian Artist Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, has been sent to Kitalya Prison while Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi has been sent to Kigo Prison by a court in Uganda on charges of negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act until December 16.
AllNews had earlier reported that the artist had performed at an event in Kampala over the weekend that breached coronavirus rules, despite Uganda's government ban on social gatherings including - controversially - election campaign rallies, to limit the spread of the virus.
Three police officers including the area officer in charge of the police station in the area were also arrested.
The policemen were arrested for failing to detect the criminal acts that took place in their area of jurisdiction, the police said.
In their statement, the Ugandan police alleged that the organizers of the concert first held lunch and dinner events, but later on at night started inviting artists to perform.

‘‘Preliminary investigations indicate that they connived with area police officers, who guarded the illegal event."
The arrested officers and three others still at large are also being investigated for disobeying lawful orders
