Amidu Oyekanmi, a security officer at the University of Ibadan has been commended for returning a purse which contained money and other valuable items to the owner.
This commendation was given by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale.
Professor Adebowale also enjoined Nigerians to emulate Oyekanmi.
Adebowale made this disclosure when the management of the institution honoured the security personnel on Tuesday.
Oyekanmi had on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, found a purse belonging to another member of staff.
It was gathered that the purse contained ATM cards, a driver’s licence and other important documents and some amount of money.
Oyekanmi received a letter of commendation from the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale.
"If all Nigerians, irrespective of religious persuasions, made honesty and integrity their watchwords, the country would be better for it," Adebowale said while presenting Oyekanmi a Letter of Commendation.
Adebowale added that Oyekanmi had greatly improved the image of the university in line with what he did.
