UK: Man arrested in Dewsbury murder case as Police rule out

West Yorkshire Police have taken a 35-year-old man into custody on suspicion of murdering a woman in what is being described as a "domestic-related incident" in Dewsbury, the UK.

The incident unfolded on Sunday evening in the Ravensthorpe area, prompting an extensive search for a "named suspect."

Officers, responding to a call at a property on Dearnley Street, found a seriously injured woman in her 20s, who succumbed to her injuries shortly after.

Detective Chief Superintendent Sarah Jones on Monday assured the public that no other suspects are being pursued in connection with the case, emphasizing that the incident is being treated as domestic-related.

Sarah Jones said; “A number of enquiries remain ongoing today into what has clearly been a very serious incident in Dewsbury.

“We recognise the concern and worry this will have caused to residents in the local area and are conducting an extensive investigation into what took place.

She added; “A man has now been arrested on suspicion of murder and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the matter which is being treated as a domestic-related incident.”

Local Neighbourhood Policing Team officers will be conducting additional patrols in the Dewsbury area to address concerns and maintain a visible presence.
