UK Prime Minister Orders Inquiry Into Islamophobia Allegatio

British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has ordered an inquiry on an allegation by Conservative lawmaker and former minister, Nusrat Ghani that she was dismissed as minister because of her Islamic faith.

The Middle East Monitor claims a statement from Downing Street said on Monday that the Prime Minister has asked the Cabinet Office to conduct an inquiry into the allegations made by Ghani.

"At the time these allegations were first made, the Prime Minister recommended to her that she make a formal complaint to the Conservative campaign headquarters."

"She did not take up this offer. The Prime Minister has now asked officials to establish the facts about what happened. The Prime Minister takes these claims very seriously."

Following the statement, Ghani wrote on Twitter that she welcomed the decision.

"As I said to the Prime Minister last night, all I want is for this to be taken seriously and for him to investigate. I welcome his decision to do that now," she said.

According to Ghani on Saturday, she was sacked from her ministerial position because of her Muslim faith.
