UK: Woman killed in devastating crash on M25

A woman in the UK, Zoe Hawes, who happens to be a mother and grandmother was tragically killed in a devastating crash on the M25.

Zoe, described as the "heart" of her family, was eagerly anticipating a holiday to celebrate her 40th birthday with her husband when the tragic incident occurred near St Albans.

The collision, involving a stolen van pursued by police, has left a deep void in the lives of her loved ones, who mourn the loss of a remarkable woman.

The collision, which claimed the lives of Zoe Hawes and another individual, prompts scrutiny over the circumstances leading to the crash.

A man in his twenties has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched an independent investigation to examine the involvement of Hertfordshire Constabulary, ensuring transparency and accountability in the aftermath of this tragic incident.

In a statement released by police, Ms Hawes’s family said: “Zoe was the heart of our blended family. She was a role model to everyone and the centre of our family.

“She was a very much loved mum, stepmum, sister, aunt and lovely young nanna. She was a friend to many. She was very much looking to go on holiday to celebrate her 40th with her husband. Sadly, a holiday and birthday she didn’t get to celebrate.

“We are all trying to pull together as a family and are devastated to lose Zoe in this tragic way.”
