Ukraine Accuses Russia Of Dam Destruction, Threatening Catas

Ukraine has accused Russia of deliberately blowing up a major dam and hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region, which is under Moscow's control.

The Ukrainian government on Tuesday warns that the destruction of the dam could result in a catastrophic flood, displacing hundreds of thousands of people.

As a precautionary measure, residents living downstream have been ordered to evacuate to safer areas.

Authorities in Ukraine have previously raised concerns about the dam's integrity and warned that its failure could release a massive amount of water, posing a significant flood risk to Kherson and surrounding areas.

Additionally, the floodwaters could potentially reach a nearby nuclear power plant occupied by Russian forces, posing a threat of a nuclear disaster.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for an emergency meeting to address the escalating crisis.
