Umahi Condemns Attack On Worshippers In Ondo

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has condemned the bloody attack on a worship Centre in Owo, Ondo State.

The attack, which took place at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, claimed at least 25 lives.

In a statement signed by Francis Nwaze, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Umahi described the incident as sacrilegious.

According to the statement; “The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi has condemned the bandit attack on the Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State which claimed many lives on Sunday.

“Governor Umahi who described the incident as 'sacrilegious', wondered why people take delight in unnecessary bloodletting.

“He expressed condolence to the affected families, the Catholic community, and the Government of Ondo State for the unfortunate loss of lives."

Umahi who is also the Chairman of the South East Governor’s Forum called on Security Agencies to rise to the occasion by apprehending the bandits and forestall its reoccurrence in any part of the Country.

The Presidential hopeful also prayed to God to grant the deceased rest in His bosom and that the hoodlums meet their waterloo.
