A yet-to-be-identified man has been crushed to death along Lenuwa Village corridor on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

He was reportedly crushed to death by a truck said to be fully loaded with goods.

It was gathered that the accident occurred on Sunday around 9:55am when a Mitsubishi truck with number plate KTU209YF derailed and hit the pedestrian who was on the sidewalk.

An eyewitness identified simply as Moses said the truck was travelling towards Ibadan when it lost control and collided with a pedestrian.

“The truck was travelling inward Ibadan at top speed when it suddenly lost control and hit the guy who was on the sidewalk. The impact tossed the man into a ditch along the highway.

“The driver and his motorboy were also injured because the truck somersaulted a couple of times before ramming into the man. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment,” Moses said on Monday.

Speaking on the accident, the state Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and said the pedestrian was confirmed dead later..

She said, “The driver and motor boy sustained wounds. The driver was travelling from Lagos, heading towards Lenuwa Village on the Motorway, towards the Ibadan corridor of the road. The report showed that the driver, who was believed to be speeding, lost control of the wheel and somersaulted before ramming into the deceased.
