University Of Ilesa: Adeleke Is Being Inconsistent - Osun AP

The Administration of Ademola Adeleke has been alleged to be inconsistent regarding the smooth takeoff of the University of Ilesa.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State made this known in a statement by Tajudeen Lawal, its acting chairman in Osogbo.

The University of Ilesa was established by the Adegboyega Oyetola administration through a law passed by the Osun State House of Assembly but Governor Adeleke hit back, accusing Oyetola of implementing shabbily a promise he made in 2018 as his campaign promise to the people of Ijesaland.

The Oyetola administration had upgraded the College of Education, Ilesa to a full fledged University of Education in 2022.

Osun APC had been reacting to the assurance given by the governor on Friday after an on-the-spot assessment of the facilities at the upgraded College of Education, Ilesa.

Adeleke in a visit to the University assured that the institution had come to stay, adding that he was only making efforts to ensure that the institution had a proper and sustainable takeoff.

Lawal stated that the haphazard manner with which Adeleke reversed earlier policies on the take-off of the institution and the Ilesa Water Project, was an indication that he was not sincere about the projects.

"I wonder why policy somersault has become the hallmark of the Adeleke administration?

"How can a governor in a supposedly democratic dispensation dish out policy statements like a military dictator?

“The haphazard manner with which Adeleke reversed his earlier policies on the take-off of the Ilesa University (IU) and the Ilesa Water Project is an indication that he is not sincere as he is out to swindle the populace and obtain their votes under false pretence in the Saturday’s election across the state.

“All the indigenes of Osun State, wherever they may be, must not cease to offer prayer to God Almighty to deliver us from the ‘kick-and-push’ governor whose trademark is a constant policy somersault.”

Lawal then implored members and supporters of his party to come out in their numbers to vote for all the candidates of the party in the next Saturday’s House of Assembly elections across the state.
