The University of Jos (UniJos) has expressed its readiness to build a billon naira hotel.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ishaya Tanko said the University was doing all it can to safeguard members of the University community against kidnapping.
Tanko made the declaration at the signing event of a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between the university and a property developer, Royal Choice Inn.
He said the hotel will accommodate visitors and sabbatical lecturers coming to the university.
He further explained that the land in which the hotel would be built was leased to the company for years.
Speaking on the security challenges in the country and what the university is doing, he stated that the issue of insecurity is global even though that of Nigeria is peculiar.
"We are putting a lot of strategies in place to ensure that our students, staff and other people within the university community are protected," he said.
