Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Ex-Adamawa Commissioner, Kill Two

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Planning, Engineer Babangida Abubakar Idris in Adamawa State. 

Two others were shot dead during the attack on the former commissioner's house on Tuesday.

The abductors who surrounded the house located at Bajabure community of Girei Local Government Area of the state.

AllNews Nigeria gathered that the former commissioner was shot on the leg before taken away while several others sustained injuries. 

Meanwhile a source close to the family revealed that the abductors requested the payment of 30 million naira ransom on Wednesday.

An anonymous source said the former commissioner had escaped an attack during the concluded APC primaries in the state.

“What is worrisome is that during the last APC primaries, he escaped an attack by some persons who ended up smashing the windscreen of his car," the source said.

The spokesperson of the Police command in Yola, SP Suleiman Nguroje said the command has received the report while confirming the incident. 

Nguroje said the command has sprung up for a rescue mission already.
