Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has terminated the appointment of one Muritala Olajide Adigun, one of his Special Assistants.
Allnews gathered that Mr Adigun was appointed as the Special Assistant on Digital Media early February, 2020.
The termination was contained in a letter signed by Olubamiwo Adeosun, Secretary to the State Government. The letter was sighted by our correspondent.
"I am to add that, your contribution within the short time of your sojourn is appreciated and commendable, and therefore, wish you successes in your future endeavours," the letter read.
Although the reason for the termination was not stated, checks by this online medium showed that Mr Adigun was earlier accused of disseminating fake news.
Pictures of the fumigation materials by the Lagos State government were posted on Mr Adigun's Facebook timeline with the caption; "Oyo State Government in her readiness to combat the escalation of Covid-19 virus, purchases disinfecting machines to be used across the state."
However, the former aide, alleged that his Facebook account was hacked by mischief makers.
In his reaction to the dismissal, he wrote on Twitter: "You called for it and you've gotten it...... Thanks to everybody that contributed to my downfall."
As of the time of filing this report, 65 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Nigeria with one from Oyo State.
