US, FUD Sign MoU On Establishment Of Public Information, Act

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the Embassy of the United States of America in Nigeria  and Federal University Dutse (FUD),  have signed a Memorandum of Understanding  to establish a Public Information and Activity Center known tagged Window on America at the Federal University Dutse  from August 2022 to August 2027.

The agreement which was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Dutse, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed and Counsellor for Public Affairs of the Embassy,  Adnan Siddiqi.

In a statement sent to Allnews Nigeria on Sunday evening by the University's Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Yahaya Bello, it was revealed that the university will provide space to the Embassy in the FUD University Library to house the Window on America program, including its equipment and collections and allow free public access to the same as well as to any Window on America-provided services and program activities.

Part of the agreement also shows that the Embassy shall provide the Window on America with basic print and electronic resources about the United States at the Embassy's discretion, and with guidance from FUD University Library on topics related to bilateral interests, including but not limited to: economics, management, business, American studies, literature, English teaching, English language, politics, law and democratic societies, chosen to reflect the Embassy's and FUD University Library's target user groups

The Window on America program will also  organise regular public activities such as group discussions, electronic interactive programs, lectures and cultural presentations 

According to the agreement, the FUD Library will also help to distribute promotional materials to the  public to enhance mutual understanding and engagement between the people of Nigeria and the people of the United States of America, as well as to inform the public about the Window on America 's activities.

The window on America should be open to the public at least 20 hours per week.
