US Mission Felicitates Nigerian Professor On $300,000 Prize

The United States Mission in Nigeria has applauded Nigerian History, Professor Saheed Aderinto, for receiving the $300,000 Dan David Prize.

According to a Facebook post made by the mission on Monday, Prof. Aderinto, a Nigerian-American Professor of History and African and African Diaspora Studies at Florida International University is the first Nigerian to receive the prize.

The mission added that the Dan David Prize is the biggest monetary prize globally for outstanding achievements in the field of history.

“Congratulations to Nigerian-American Professor of History and African and African Diaspora Studies at Florida International University, Saheed Aderinto, on becoming the first Nigerian to receive the $300,000 Dan David Prize—the largest financial reward for excellence in the historical discipline in the world.

“Professor Aderinto is the Founding President of the Lagos Studies Association,” the post read.
