US To Encourage Embassy Staff, Families To Evacuate Ukraine

The United State Department has advised families of its embassy staff in Ukraine to start leaving the country.

According to Fox News, U.S. officials said on Saturday that the State Department is also expected to encourage U.S. citizens to begin evacuating Ukraine next week by commercial flights.

A spokesperson for the State Department said; "We conduct rigorous contingency planning, as we always do, in the event the security situation deteriorates."

"If there is a decision to change our posture concerning American diplomats and their families, American citizens should not anticipate that there will be U.S. government-sponsored evacuations."

"Currently commercial flights are available to support departures."

The official also advised U.S. citizens to be aware of reports that Russia is planning for significant military action against Ukraine.

The U.S. has been warning that Russia is setting the stage for the invasion of Ukraine. and has positioned more than 100,000 soldiers on its border with Ukraine.
