The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, has called on public servants and citizens of Nigeria, to use the occasion of the 63rd independence anniversary of the country as an opportunity to make sober reflections on approach to National issues.
Egbedun made this known through through a personally signed statement on Sunday.
“Nigeria’s journey since independence in 1960 has been eventful in many respects.
"We may have come this far as one united country, but the plethora of threats to our continued existence give us reasons to reflect and review our approach to diverse National issues."
He called on public servants to begin to rethink their approach to service to the people.
"Citizens of our dear Nation must begin to rethink our contributions to the continued existence of this entity.
"If we must grow, while remaining indivisible, we must rebuild the broken walls and reaffirm our resolve to stick together in Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress.”
He prayed for strength for all Nigerians, that all citizens be strengthened to play patriotic roles in building a country that we will be proud to bequeath to our generations unborn.
