Use Seat Belts While Driving - Osun Government

Use Seat Belts While Driving - Osun Government

The Osun State Government has urged residents to always endeavour to use their seat belts whenever they are on wheels.

This measure, it stated, is so to avoid road accidents that could lead to unnecessary loss of lives.

The State government through the Executive Secretary of the Osun State Office of Transportation, Engr. Bilal Adiat made this known while featuring on a radio programme in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Engr. Adiat stated that the administration of Ademola Adeleke has observed that a lot of drivers and passengers are fond of not using their seat belts, a situation which, he said, the Governor condemns.

He added that the governor had directed the Office Of Transportation to complement the efforts of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in educating motorists and passengers on the need to always use their seat belts.

"Governor Adeleke will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of all road users in the State, hence the move by government to ensure that safety precautions are taken on the road.

"The Osun State Government particularly frowns at a situation where young children are allowed to seat at the front seat. Children are supposed to seat at the back with seat belts in place."

He hinted that officials of the Osun State Office Of Transportation will henceforth be on ground to check and ensure that people use their seat belts when in the vehicle.

"Our Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has urged motorists and their passengers to always use their seat belts whenever they are in the vehicle for their own safety," he stated.
