The former Southampton defender has cemented his places at the centre-back of Jurgen Klopp's team which was greatly missed by Liverpool when he was ruled out of the season last term.
He returned as a freshly signed player and gave the Anfield's fans some assurance by penning down a new deal.
The defender became the latest Red to commit his future to the club – following on from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker and Fabinho in recent weeks.
After signing the deal, Van Dijk said, "Since day one when I joined the club, I felt so much appreciation from the fans and from my teammates and the staff, that I could be a very important member of this football club.
"It has been going well; unfortunately last season for me personally has been a season to forget, to learn from and take with me, but I have enjoyed my time here and will keep enjoying it in the next couple of years altogether with all of you.
"It didn't take too long to feel like that [at home], to be fair, with the help of my teammates, especially in the beginning, the staff and especially the fans, how they have welcomed me from the start.
"Where I am today, how I feel today, is [as] a very senior, important player for the team and for the club. That's just a fantastic feeling and why I definitely feel at home here."
Van Dijk will face the chance to prove his words when Liverpool kick off their 2021-22 EPL season away at Norwich on Saturday August 14.
