Liverpool defender and second captain, Virgil van Dijk has returned to solo training at the Reds ground following his recovery from injury.
The centre-back was pictured in a tweet by the English club at the AXA Training Centre on Wednesday, outside with the ball at his feet in what is a huge step in his recovery progress.

The Dutch skipper was seen energetic as he came on the green grass at the centre for his solo training as he continues on his way back to full fitness.
Van Dijk suffered serious anterior cruciate ligament damage against Everton back in October when Jordan Pickford launched himself into a reckless challenge and left him needing surgery.

The £75million defender underwent surgery in London later that month and was back at Liverpool's AXA Training Centre in December undergoing rehabilitation on the knee with some light sessions in the gym
Van Dijk has spent much of his time in Dubai since, training at the NAS Sports Complex at Nad Al Sheba.

He was seen there kicking a ball while also joining up with former Reds centre-back Dejan Lovren, AC Milan legend Clarence Seedorf and UFC champion fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.
However, he is now back in Liverpool and starting to undertake recovery work with the Reds at the training base in Kirkby.
