Vector Criticizes Elders For Disrespecting Nigerian Youths

Vector

Nigerian rapper Vector has expressed his disappointment with the behaviour of some of the country’s elders who are supposed to be role models for the younger generation.

In a series of tweets, he noted that these elders are busy disrespecting themselves by calling the youth all sorts of names.

Vector believes that this behaviour would be more tolerable if these elders were actually excellent in public office.

He used the example of former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, who he says is constantly criticized not because of his looks, but because he doesn’t live up to his academically sound utterances.

“It just occurred to me that presently, the elders we are supposed to be respecting are busy disrespecting themselves calling their youth (the people’s future) all sorts of names.

“It could have made pardonable sense if they  (the  “elders” ) were truly excellent in public office.

“For example, no one is dissing FFK because he looks like a fly frog on aviators on his dp. No, they diss him because he’s not a man of any of his plenty academically sound utterances.

“These are men of Public office representing the people they are fighting lol,” Vector wrote.

The rapper also highlighted the fact that many public officers represent the people they are fighting, and that it is important for them to maintain professionalism and decorum, even on social media.

Vector believes that some of these officials should have social media managers to ensure that their online presence is aligned with their official duties.

“Public officer serves both sides of the coin… It comes with the office.

“Many of them should have a social media manager because they are busy fixing the wear and tear in the country but Festus has appeared on social media more than he has showed up in any office he holds or Court,” he tweeted.
