Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality star and singer Vee has arrested a plumber who scammed her out of N150,000.
The incident unfolded when Vee realized she had been deceived by the plumber and decided to confront him.
Taking to Twitter, Vee shared a photo of the plumber in handcuffs, accompanied by a tweet that read, “PLAY STUPID GAMES, WIN STUPID PRIZES. And for all of you that were making excuses for this plumber, THIS is your future.”
She expressed her disappointment with those who had defended the plumber's actions.
When I realised what he was doing, I told him to come to my house this morning, can you believe he turned off my water again but THIS time, he used a screwdriver to lock my water completely.
HE WILL SLEEP IN JAIL.— VEE. (@veeiye) July 13, 2023
Earlier, on Wednesday, Vee had expressed her frustration on Twitter, recounting how the plumber had swindled her out of N150,000.
In her tweet, she stated, “He will sleep in jail. My plumber scammed me and collected 150k for a 20k job, and one IDIOT is telling me it’s because ‘everyone is hungry’. He will eat in jail.”
Vee elaborated on the details of the incident, sharing how she had initially hired the plumber to fix her kitchen tap.
Subsequently, she asked him to replace the tap entirely, for which he quoted a price of N15,000.
However, the tap malfunctioned shortly after, and the plumber attributed it to a faulty filter, charging her an additional N22,000 for the repairs.
The cycle continued, with the tap repeatedly failing, and the plumber insisting on various expensive fixes.
Vee finally became suspicious when the plumber suggested changing the filter for a hefty sum of N46,000.
Seeking a second opinion, she discovered that the plumber had been intentionally cutting off her water supply from outside, leaving her with unnecessary expenses.
Vee expressed her frustration at the situation and the normalization of such behaviour in Nigeria. She emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions, to prevent others from falling victim to similar scams.
