Victims Escape After Kidnappers Who Demanded N10 Million Sle

Two children, Jamiu and Sambo who were victims of kidnappers successfully escaped their abductors as they slept off in Kwara State.

They were abducted after gunmen killed their father, Alfa Tunde Aribidesi on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at their residence at Gaa Osibi in the Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

His children, Jamiu (12) and Sambo (15), were taken away as the kidnappers demanded N10 million for their release.

The two children, however, escaped on Sunday night after their abductors slept off in the forest.

“The kidnapers used the phone of our late father to contact our family for N10 million ransom but we escaped from the bush when they (kidnappers) were sleeping and we arrived at our house early in the morning,” Sambo said.

A medical doctor (name withheld), who said the two kids were in his hospital, confirmed the development.

A friend of the deceased, Alfa Lawal Taoheed had earlier solicited prayers for the safe return of the kids while negotiation was ongoing with the kidnappers.

He said, “The family arranged N7 million through a representative.

"Unfortunately, the kidnappers could not tell the man where exactly to meet them or drop the money, which made him return with it."
