Lille and Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen, has denied ‘fake news’ reports that he agreed to a five-year contract with Napoli.
AllNews observed that The Punch first reported that the Ligue 1 star has entered a verbal agreement with the Serie A giants, and numerous newspapers carried the news.
The striker has been valued at €50m and is expected to move on this summer after just one season in Lille - a fine campaign on an individual level.
Napoli are currently the favourites for the 21-year old but face strong competition from Liverpool, so Osimhen was upset to see reports in Nigeria and France of a five-year deal already agreed with the Partenopei.

“A lot of fake news about me agreeing a deal with Napoli is sickening for real,” he told Omasports.com on earlier this week.
“I’m surprised at the journalists, that say they are professionals. I find it amazing. Please disregard any fake news, when it’s time for my transfer, you’ll hear from me directly.”
