Former Niger-Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubu
Former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubu insists IPOB's Nnamdi Kanu must remain in detention.
Dokubo during a live Facebook session on Thursday urged President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government of Nigeria to disregard appeals from some Igbo leaders pushing for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) from where he appears in court to face charges bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism filed against him by the federal government.
Speaking on the matter Dokubo said, “They will come and be begging (the FG) to bring out Nnamdi Kanu. For what? For the people that he is killing? You take Mkpuru mmiri, then eat the flesh of our people.
“You accuse your Governors, they are afraid, they cannot talk,” Dokubo said in a Facebook Live on Thursday night."
He further accused IPOB members of intimidating traditional rulers and political leaders in the region with their violent approach to the Biafra agitation.
“What these evil men are doing to our people, do they have hearts? You take traditional rulers, chain them, you put guns inside their mouth, from your own videos, that traditional rulers are the people who are not allowing Biafra to come, that they are the people who have connived not to allow Biafra to come. This is bad.”
