Controversial on-air personality Daddy Freeze has defended the trending comments of Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), stating that he agrees with him.
AllNews reports that Adeboye, whose wife Foluke became a year older on Monday, July 13 took to Twitter to celebrate her and while doing that in his message, the pastor used that avenue to remind "many young brides" of their places in the home, and to lecture them on the role of the women in relation to their husbands.
The pastor goes on to state the amount of power he holds over his wife stating that he could will her to "cancel whatever she was to do and come along with me."
Adeboye reminded that no matter how powerful or successful or educated a woman is, "your husband is your head and you must regard him as such at all times," ensuring that she does not emasculate the man.
He goes on to highlight how important his role in the family is when he says that "she (his wife) cannot help me without my instructions, so when they come, her response is Yes sir."
This didn’t go down well with many Twitter users who expressed their disappointment at the cleric’s message and he has since been trending on the micro-blogging platform.
Reacting, Daddy Freeze, in a video shared on his Instagram handle made reference to his parent's marriage, stating that his mum is the vice-chancellor of a university and still cooks for his 75 year-old-dad.
Comparing the current generation to that of Adeboye’s, Daddy Freeze who happens to be the Convener, Free The Sheeple Movement, said there is nothing wrong with the cleric’s comment.
He, however, said it might be difficult to expect what fits into Adeboye’s generation into what fits into his own generation, adding that the critics must be careful with their criticisms.
