The boss of the Lagos State Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, has said that he had no hands in the attack of the protesters at Alausa by armed thugs.
He said that he was "surprised" that he was "linked" to the incident, adding that he and his union were in support of the protest's "objective".
The NURTW chief wondered why he would set thugs on the protesters when "my brothers and sisters are among the protesters".

He added that there is no "sane" member of the NURTW that would join in the attack of the protesters because "it is for the good of everybody".
Oluomo said that he had cautioned his people to not get involved, swearing that he did not know the thugs.
