The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has revealed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refused to let them inspect election materials despite the recent court order.
While granting the commission's request to reconfigure BVAS devices ahead of the gubernatorial poll, the Court of Appeal in its ruling on Wednesday instructed INEC to allow the party to inspect and carry out a digital forensic examination of all election materials in the February 25 election.
But speaking in a video monitored by AllNews Nigeria, Abure disclosed that the commission has refused to obey the court's instruction.
"I have always in all my interviews, go and check, expressed confidence in INEC. But their behaviour and the manner and the way in which they handled the last election have destroyed the confidence completely.
"And I want to say that since that order was made that we should be given the opportunity to inspect election materials, INEC has not allowed us access till now.
"We've not been able to inspect materials.
"Our lawyers have been going there on a daily basis. Our technical experts have been going there on daily basis, and we've not been allowed access", he stated.
The INEC has not allowed us to access the election materials since the court order said the LP chairman.
