VIDEO: Mayhem In Lagos As Taskforce, Okada Riders Clash In Ojodu Berger
Officers attached to the Lagos State task force and motorcycle operators popularly called ‘Okada’ riders on Thursday morning clashed along the Ojodu Berger axis of the state.
According to eyewitnesses, while some moved their bikes to safer locations, others took to their heels, leaving their bikes behind due to the violent attack by the taskforce officials.
The clash also paralysed activities in the community following the spray of teargas by men of the task force and throwing of bottles by okada riders who tried to defend themselves.
The task force reportedly seized scores of motorcycles, according to eyewitnesses, while a woman was shot in the face with a tear gas canister.
Efforts to speak with the Head, Public Affairs Unit, Lagos task force, Adebayo Taofik proved abortive as his line could not be reached neither were text messages responded to.
According to @PhemzDaws, a police officer attached to the Okada Taskforce Unit shot a woman in the face with a teargas cannister at Ojodu Berger axis of Lagos.
