The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu gaffed in a major way on Thursday during the party’s presidential campaign held in Kano State.
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, who is known for his recent blunders seems to have passed the torch to the major opposition party as supporters witnessed in a video shared online.
Ayu while addressing those at the campaign, Ayu who stated that PDP ought to be the leaders in Africa added that the party has brought them shame and should not retain power.
"We are supposed to be the leaders in Africa and everywhere in the world we should be respected.
"PDP has brought us shame and we will not continue to retain them in power", he stated.
Uploading the clip on his Twitter account, APC's Festus Keyamo mocked the party but added that the development would not make headlines.
"In Kano today, Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP National Chairman, confessed that PDP has brought shame and we should not retain them in power.
"This obvious costly slip-of-tongue will not make any headlines. Watch out for some Press reports on this!", Keyamo stated.
