Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has responded to being called a Nollywood actor by the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
During his latest appearance on Arise TV, Obi was reminded of El-Rufai's comments that he would not get up to one per cent in Sokoto and two per cent in Katsina.
Reuben Abati also pointed out that the Kaduna governor advised that Obi should focus on the movie industry.
Responding, the Labour Party presidential flag bearer expressed gratitude to El-Rufai for giving him the percentage, adding that he would work hard to improve.
Obi also said that El-Rufai recognised that he is an actor and that he aims to improve the entertainment industry.
"Well, I thank El-Rufai for what he said. At least he gave me some percentage. So, I'm gonna work hard to improve that percentage.
"And he recognised the fact I'm an actor. And I think part of what is holding this country from development is raising those engines that will develop us.
"One thing I want to focus on is improving our industry. It includes Nollywood.
"And now that I'm a claimed actor, I'm asking all those who are involved in the entertainment industry, being one of them, to support me", Obi stated.
REUBEN ABATI: El Rufai called you a nollywood actor to make fun of you. How do you react?
Peter Obi: no problem. I'm part of nollywood and that's why I want to improve our entertainment industry. Please, my fellow nollywood actors, vote for me. Vote for Labour Party. #voteLP ❤ pic.twitter.com/Yta7O2IzGO— Spotlight on #PeterObi2023 #Obidatti023 (@Spotlight_Abby) February 5, 2023
