VIDEO: UNILORIN Student 'Beats' Female Supervisor

UNILORIN student beat lecturer to coma

A student of the University of Ilorin( UNILORIN) Kwara State beat a female supervisor of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty Of Life Sciences to coma.

The UNILORIN student simply identified as Captain Walz is reported to be a popular student in the school and didn’t observe the compulsory Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and sought the lecturer’s help.

It took a new twist as Walz started assaulting his supervisor, Zakariyyah. She tried to escape into another office but he ran after her and strangled her till she passed out.

An eyewitness, while narrating the event said, “He went to the woman’s office to seek her help for his issue because he didn’t do the SIWES.

“He entered the woman’s office and started banging the table, the woman abused him and he moved closer to the woman and started slapping the woman.

“The woman tried to escape but he kept pursuing the woman, the lecturer ran into an office but Captain Walz broke the window and started punching her.

“The woman was calling for help but people weren’t around as the school just resumed on Monday.

“While trying to escape, he pursued the woman till she fell down and he then strangled (sic) her till she was in a coma.”

Meanwhile, the Director of Corporate Affairs of the institution, Kunle Akogun, confirmed the incident and stated that the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, in the company of the Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Professor Oladiji, the Director, University Health Services, Dr. Odunola, and a few other staff visited the victim and her family, on Saturday.

However, the lecturer is now in stable condition and recuperating and the student is currently in Police custody.
