Bola Ahmed Tinubu was born on March 29 1952 in Lagos state, Nigeria. His mother Abibat Mogaji was a trader who later become the Iya Oloja of Lagos State.
He attended St John Primary School, Aroloya Lagos and Children Home school in Ibadan South west Nigeria. He studied first at Richard J Daley college in Chicago, Illinois, and then at Chicago State University. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
