Vigilante Group Arrests Eight Suspected Gang Members In Jos

Eight suspected hoodlums known as Sara-suka Boys in Jos North Local Government Area have being arrested by the officers of the Vigilante Group Of Nigeria (VGN) on Saturday.

The suspects were alleged to be involved in the killing of Sani Mazadu, a lecturer with the Federal University Gashua Yobe State and Suleiman Sa’adu, an officer with the Vigilante Group Of Nigeria, Jos North Command held at Fatima Private School, Jos.

Sani Mazadu and Suleiman Sa’adu were killed by the eight suspected hoodlums in Jos last month.

According to the commandant, Vigilante Group Of Nigeria, Jos North, Sani Kachalla said the eight suspected hoodlums are between the ages of sixteen to twenty, noting that they have been causing trouble in some communities in Jos North Local Government Area.

Kachalla said the the hoodlums were arrested in different destinations by their officers.

He assured that with the support being received from the chairman of Jos North Government, they will continue to make sure that there will be no hiding place for criminals in the area.

Operations commander, Jos North Vigilante Group Of Nigeria, Sani Ahmad who shed more light on efforts which led to the arrest, stressed that the command has initiate measures to bring all the perpetrators to book.

Reacting to the development, chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Shehu Usman commended the officers and men of the Vigilante Group Of Nigeria for their efforts in ensuring a free crime society.

Usman added that his administration will continue to work closely with the conventional and Non Conventional actors to protect lives and prosperity of citizens in the area.
