Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State is a hot zone at the moment as a video has shown the escalating violence that has erupted in the region due to the protest over the naira scarcity and fuel crisis.
With just a few days to the deadline of the phasing out of the old notes, Nigerians continue to lament due to the unavailability of cash being dispensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Things got out of hand on Tuesday in Sapon, Abeokuta when aggrieved citizens took to the streets to stage a demonstration and unfortunately, a young man ended up being shot.
Residents in Ibara, Panseke, Asero and Adaton were not left out as the Twitter post reveals that the areas had their fair share of protests.
In the short clip seen below, a young man who was reportedly shot drags his feet as sympathisers rush to his aid.
At some point, his energy wanes and he collapses, almost falling into a nearby gutter.
