Vinicius, Benzema Win UEFA Best Player Awards For 2021-22 Season

Real Madrid duo Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema have clinched UEFA Best Player awards for the just concluded 2021-22 season of the competitions.

Benzema was named best player while Vinicius wins the best young player award for the top tier of UEFA competitions.

The French forward who has also been tipped to win the 2022 Ballon d'Or award scored 15 goals in the Champions League beating Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski and Ajax frontman Sebastien Haller.

The combination of the two forwards at the Spanish capital club was crucial for the La Liga-Champions League double.

They formed a formidable duo that ripped defences apart with Vinicius' pace and Benzema's clinical finishes.

The Brazilian youngster was also clinical in front of goal scoring in the final to defeat Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in Paris.

UEFA's Technical Observer panel have also selected their top ten goals of the season.
