VX Animation Announces 'Black Rain' Kickstarter Campaign

VX Animation Announces 'Black Rain' Kickstarter Campaign

VX Animation, a subsidiary of Vortex Corp., has announced the Black Rain kickstarter campaign scheduled to begin this month.

In a press release made available to AllNews Nigeria, it was disclosed that Black Rain is an Afro-futuristic 2D-animated short film revolving around a planet under siege by a corrupt conglomerate as seen through the eyes of a child named Boubini.

The story is inspired by the tragic events of the Ijaw tribe in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria following the region getting hit by an environmental disaster as a result of a company's oil spill.

Black Rain is said to be a revolutionary project on environmental advocacy and the goal is to use animation as a powerful tool for powerful and educational storytelling.

The kickstarter will commence on February 22, 2022, and onboard the project is Executive Producer Rad Sechrist (the creator of Netflix's Kipo and the age of Wonderbeasts) and Supervisors Andy Cung (Storyboard Artist for Netflix and Cartoon Network), and Chris Amick (writer for DreamWorks and Adult Swim).

VX Animation is an animation studio based in Nigeria dedicated to creating authentic and compelling content, with award-winning animated films screened around the globe and recognised by the press.

The company has stated its commitment to pushing the boundaries of its craft by bringing the spotlight to Africa while creating value for the emerging industry.
