Following the fire outbreak at the National Office of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in Yaba, Lagos, the management has given an update on whether or not there were casualties.
The building was engulfed in flames on Wednesday morning and speaking in a statement, the management disclosed that no life was lost in the incident.
Signed by Moyosola Adesina, the Head of the Public Affairs Department of the Council, the update stated that the fire was swiftly contained by firefighters who arrived at the scene.
“The Management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), wishes to use this medium to inform the general public that there was an early morning fire incident at the WAEC National Office, Yaba, Lagos. It was swiftly contained by a combined team of firefighters.
“Thankfully, no life was lost and all important documents and records are intact”, the statement reads.
