WAEC Result 2020: See Why Ekiti State SSCE Results Were Delayed

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has revealed why the 2020 West Africa Senior School Examination results of candidates in public schools in Ekiti State was delayed.

The branch controller Olajide Hakeem on behalf of the head of WAEC national office explained that the delay was due to traffic congestion on WAEC’s result portal.

Hakeem further explained that contrary to rumours in some quarters, Ekiti State is not indebted to WAEC, hence indebtedness wasn’t responsible for the delay in the release of results.

The letter reads; ”On behalf of the Head of National Office and the entire West African Examinations Council, I hereby tender our unreserved apology for the delay that occurred in the release of Ekiti State Public School results.

”The Council wishes to state clearly, that Ekiti State was not in any way indebted to WAEC. However, it should be noted that many candidates from all parts of the country were unable to access their results throughout yesterday due to the heavy traffic congestion on our site. The results were eventually accessed by 5:45 pm yesterday.

”We condemn in its entirety any attempt by anybody or group making a campaign of calumny to achieve any selfish desires on this very sensitive issue. Ekiti State government remains one of our very reliable clients and we cherish the cordial relationship existing between the state and the Council, which we intend to keep.

”We regret any inconveniences arising from the delay in the release of results of Ekiti State Public Schools.”

How To Check WAEC Result 2020

You don’t need to buy any scratch card to check your WAEC result. The result checker pin and serial number needed by candidates to check results online are contained on the candidate’s smart identity card used during the conduct of the examination.

1) Go to WAEC 2020 result checking portal at https://www.waecdirect.org.

2) Enter your WAEC Examination Number in the required column.

3) Select your Examination Year i.e. 2020.

4) Select your Examination Type i.e. SCHOOL CANDIDATE RESULT.

5) Enter the Card Serial Number.

6) Enter the Card PIN.

7) Finally, click the “Submit” button to get your 2020 WAEC Result.
