Atletico Madrid striker Rasheedat Ajibade scored a header in the second half for Super Falcons to beat Cameroon narrowly by 1-0 to qualify for the semifinals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2022 on Thursday.

The Falcons have finally risen from their first defeat to South Africa in Morocco as they squeeze past Cameroon to earn a place in the semifinals and the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Super Falcons playing against Cameroon without star woman Asisat Oshoala were dull in the first half having 7 attempts at goal with 0 shots on target.

Although, Cameroon were dull too as they had only one shot on target with one attempt.

In the second half, a cross from Ifeoma Onumonu was met by Ajibade's head which bounce off the post with Cameroonian goalkeeper Ange Bawou's outstretched hands could not reach it.

The victory means Nigeria will now face Morocco in the semifinals on Monday.
