Wamakko Mourns Sokoto Bandit Attacks Victims

The Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, has mourned the unfortunate attacks on villagers in Sokoto State by bandits.

The attacks took place in some villages of the Tangaza Local Government Area of the state during the weekend.

The state's police command had confirmed on Sunday that 30 lives were lost while many others were injured.

ASP Ahmad Rufai, the Acting Spokesman of the command, said the bandits attacked Raka, Bilingawa, Raka Dutse, Jaba, Dabagi and Tsalewa villages of the LGA on Saturday.

The senator, in a statement by his spokesperson, Bashar Abubakar, commiserated with the families of the deceased.

He also described the incident as unfortunate and ungodly.

The lawmaker, who is also the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained various degrees of injuries during the attack.

“For this attack, the authority should urgently take the necessary measures and ensure that the perpetrators must be brought to book to face the wrath of the law.

“I condoled with the people of the area and prayed Allah the Almighty to forgive the deceased and reward them with Jannatul Firdausi as their final abode,” Wamakko said.
