On Saturday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke shared a video of himself beating a drum known as ‘Bandiri’ to celebrate his victory at the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Friday.
The court upheld his victory at the July 2022 poll, which had been challenged by ex-governor Gboyega Oyetola over alleged over-voting.
In the video, the governor is seen happily beating the drum while his supporters sitting around him sing along to a celebratory song in Yoruba.
Governor Adeleke, who was nicknamed ‘dancing senator’ during his days at the Senate over his love for dancing, captioned the video with the love symbol and Nigerian flag.

The appellate court, in a unanimous decision by a three-member panel of Justices, held that Adeleke’s appeal challenging his sack by the Osun tribunal was meritorious, and overturned the judgement of the tribunal.
The court also awarded N500,000 cost against the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Oyetola.
