We Are Not Recruiting - FCT-IRS Refutes Employment Letter Re

The Federal Capital Territory-Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has dissociated itself from appointment letters purportedly issued by the service in circulation, saying that the service is not recruiting at the moment.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by FCT-IRS Head of Corporate Communications  Mustapha Sumaila on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to Sumaila, the act was meant to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.

He urged members of the public to be cautious in order not to fall victim to scammers who were parading fake appointment letters.

“FCT-IRS does not sell employment and whoever demands money for a job in the name of the service is a fraudster.

“You are advised to report such person or group of persons to the appropriate authorities.

“Anyone who patronises such fraudsters does so at his or her own peril,’’ he said.

The spokesperson said the service had put necessary measures in place to ensure that anyone caught in the act was brought to justice.

He, however,  urged members of the public to always visit the service’s website for any information.
