The Ambassadors would engage addicts, and help them through a rehabilitation process
Kano First Lady, Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has tasked the just inaugurated Female Anti-Drug Ambassadors in Nasarawa Local Government Area to take the war against drug abuse amongst women and youths to all nooks and crannies of the area.
Professor Ganduje who was represented by Special Adviser to the Governor on Non-Governmental Organization and also the state APC treasurer, Ƴardada Maikano Bichi gave the advice during the flag off ceremony of Female anti drug Ambassadors held at Tourism Camp in the area.
She stressed that with the help of women drug abuse can completely be rid off in the state.
A statement issued by the spokespeople to Kano Governor on health Auwal Musa Yola on Sunday quoted the First Lady as urging the committee members to ensure they mobilise women on the importance of voters card and implications of Substance abuse to their general wellbeing.
Earlier, the state Commissioner of Women affairs and social development Dr. Zahra'u Muhammad Umar charged parents in the area to give proper attention to their children, especially with peer impact on their social lives.
On her part, the State Chairperson of the committees Dr. Fauziyya Buba Idris said drug abuse is dangerous, particularly to women and youths.
Buba thanked the state's first lady for initiating the program to minimize the use of illegal drugs among women and youths.
She then stressed the need for the female anti-drug ambassadors of the area to work diligently in the discharge of their duties to achieve the set goals.
Also speaking, the state APC women leader Sayyada Fatima Abdullahi Dala assured of their support in tackling the manace among women and youths in the state.
Responding, the wife of the local government Chairman Hajia Fatima Auwal Lawan Aranposu commended first lady office in her effort towards women development across the state.
