'We Can No Longer Trust A Governor Who Denies Conspiracy', PDP Asks Sanwo-Olu To Step Down

'We Can No Longer Trust A Governor Who Denies Conspiracy',

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has asked the governor of the State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to resign his position.

Making this call in a statement signed by Taofik Gani, the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state on Sunday, the party explained that Lagosians could no longer trust a governor who denies his conspiracy action.

Calling for the resignation of Sanwo-Olu, PDP held that the people no longer trusted him as their governor

“The PDP is of the view that it is more expedient for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to step aside now that the Nigerian Army has revealed him as the person who invited the soldiers to go quell the Lekki protests which have led to unfortunate fatalities and grievous injuries.

“Obviously, Lagosians can no longer trust a governor who denies his conspiracy actions in government. Sanwoolu has no moral standing worth being proud of and he should admit this and honourably leave the stage as governor of the state,” Gani said.

It will be recalled that men of the Nigerian army on the 20th of October 2020 opened fire on unarmed #EndSARS protesters.

The act which was initially denied by both the army and the state government, later had the army admitting to sending soldiers to the protest ground on the request of the state government.
