Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, expressed his pride in his team's performance after their victory over Brighton in the FA Cup, vowing to give everything to prevent Manchester City from matching his club's historic treble.

After a goalless draw, United secured a 7-6 win on penalties at Wembley on Sunday, with defender Victor Lindelof scoring the decisive spot-kick.

The victory came as a welcome rebound for United, who had suffered a shocking 3-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League quarterfinals just a few days earlier, losing 5-2 on aggregate.

Speaking at the post-match conference, Ten Hag praised his team's character and mental strength, saying, "We showed great determination and were physically and mentally strong. We were determined to win this game."

Ten Hag acknowledged the challenge ahead, with Manchester City targeting a treble of Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup titles. City had been in impressive form in recent weeks, moving up through the gears and emerging as favourites for all three trophies. However, Ten Hag remained optimistic, jokingly saying, "I won't tell you the key to beating City, I'll keep that for myself."

The Dutch manager also spoke about the unique achievement of winning the treble, a feat accomplished only by Manchester United under former manager Alex Ferguson in 1999. "It's not an easy job," Ten Hag remarked, "but we have a great team and great players, and we can beat them."

He issued a defiant rallying call, expressing his determination to give United fans another trophy, saying, "We will do everything to prevent City from matching our treasured treble. We will give everything we have, everything the team and staff have."

Ten Hag also highlighted the need for improvement in bouncing back during tough matches, citing previous setbacks suffered by United this season, including a 6-3 defeat to City and a 7-0 defeat to Liverpool. "We have proved that we can deal with setbacks and bounce back between games,"

Ten Hag said. "But now we need to improve our ability to bounce back in difficult situations within games, show more personality."

As the FA Cup final against Manchester City approaches on June 3rd, Ten Hag's determination and confidence in his team's abilities remain unwavering. With the support of the fans, he is committed to giving his all in the pursuit of another trophy for Manchester United, vowing to leave no stone unturned in the quest to prevent City from matching the club's cherished treble achievement.
