We Can't Cater For Increasing COVID-19 Cases, Omokri

Following the decision of the Federal Government to re-open schools in the country, Reno Omokri an aide to erstwhile President, Goodluck Jonathan has warned that the country lacks facilities to cater to increase COVID-19 cases.

Omokri who took to his Twitter page to react to the recent re-opening of schools pointed out that the country lacked more COVID-19 facilities than it lacked facilities for online learning.

"Those saying Nigerian schools must resume because we lack online learning facilities should realise that we lack facilities to cater for increase #COVID19 infections even more than we lack online facilities," Omokri stated.

Further buttressing his point on why schools should remain closed, the former President's aide noted that "a  child who loses a year is better than a dead child"

According to Omokri, "America and the UK have medical facilities that are 100 times better than Nigeria’s, yet their schools are closed."

He further alleged that the government decided to re-open the schools because none of President Muhammadu Buhari's children school in Nigeria. "He does not care about you and your children!" Omokri said.

Also accusing Buhari of leaving Nigeria's border open until his daughter returned from the UK, Omokri wrote "Anyone who thinks this semiliterate buffoon of a President cares for them should remember that he left Nigeria’s borders open until his daughter returned from UK"

Lawmakers had on Saturday asked the Federal government to shift the re-opening of schools by 3 months.

According to the lawmakers, schools were not prepared for resumption in the heat of the second wave of the pandemic.
