We Did Not Ask For Donations To Feed Inmates In Ramadan— N

Kano State Command of the Nigerian Correctional service (NCoS) has distanced itself from media advertorials requesting support to feed inmates during the Ramadan fast.

According to the command’s spokesman, DSC Musbahu Lawan Kofar Nassarawa in a statement on Wednesday, some foundations are making media announcements that the command asked them to seek contributions from the masses to feed the inmates.

He said though the command accepts food donations from well-meaning Nigerians, it did not ask the public to fund any feeding programs.

DSC Kofar Na’isa also said all donations are taken to the nearest correctional centre of the donor, and subsequently screened before it reaches the inmates.

According to the statement “The Nigerian Correctional service Kano state Command wisely disassociate itself from that announcement because it contravenes the statutory procedures of the service.”

He led the general public to be wary of fraudsters who are willing to defraud innocent citizens.
