'We Killed 78 Farmers'- Boko Haram Claims Responsibility For

Proscribed Islamic militant sect Boko Haram has taken the responsibility for the Zabarmari Massacre that led to the death of 43 Rice farmers in Borno.

According to BBC, the Boko Haram in a new video released claimed that it killed 78 farmers during its attack on Zabarmari community in Jere local government area of Borno state.

It will be recalled that AllNews had on Saturday reported that Boko Haram beheaded 43 farmers during its attack on Zabarmari community.

Reacting to the development President Muhammadu Buhari who condemned the attack revealed that He had given the military the required support to ensure that lives and properties of Nigerian citizens are protected.

Garba Shehu the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity who spoke after the attack claimed that the rice farmers were not cleared to work on the rice field.

Reeling out a statistics of amount od casualties suffered during the attack, Amnesty International confirmed that 43 farmers were killed while 16 others were internally displaced.

Amnesty International further revealed that 10 other female farmers were missing.

In the aftermath, notable Nigerians who reacted to the unfortunate incident asked president Buhari to restructure the Nigeria Security system.
