Member Representing Albasu, Gaya and Ajingi in the House of Representatives, Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya says plans are underway to inaugurate a committee that will look to ease educational burdens for some indigenes of the area.
In a statement released by the Representative Tuesday in Kano, he said 50 indigent students from of Albasu, Gaya, and Albasu local governments in higher institutions would be chosen for monthly financial grant to ease their way through school.
According to him, this will support the development of education in the constituency and Kano State in general,
Noting that 18 Million Naira would be spent for the program, translating to 1.5 million Naira each month, Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya promised to sustain policies that will develop the constituency.
Despite the high level of school attendance in Kano, most are unable to proceed to tertiary institutions, mostly due to poverty.
