Civil servants in Niger State will not be receiving their full salaries, as the state government cites a reduction in its federal allocation.
The state government disclosed that it would not be able to pay 100 percent of the salaries of its civil servants.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, the state would pay only 70 percent of salaries.

It read in part, “What we discussed with the organized Labor was that because of the recession, our FAAC allocation has dropped to a level where we would not be able to pay 100 percent of the salary.
“We called their attention to this, we opened our books in terms of how much we received, the existing commitments and what is left over.”
